Electrical Installation Condition Reports have two main sections. These are, the Inspection and the Testing.

Landlord requirements

Landlords are legally required to have a valid EICR report to make sure the Electrical Installation is safe and maintained. For home owners it’s not mandatory but it’s recommended to have an EICR report for a property at least every 10 years.

There are two main parts to an EICR

The Inspection

We visually Inspect the Consumer Unit or often called “Fuse box”. We determine if it has any marks of burns. Ensure that the current carrying capacity of the cables of the individual circuits are appropriate to take that load. Ensure the Circuit Breakers not oversized for the circuits. We also check the Bonding (Earthing) to the Gas, Water incomer and to the metal structure of the building if has one. Finally, we inspect s the Sockets, Lights and Switches to make sure everything is wired correctly.

The Testing

The installation process for solar and battery storage systems begins with a thorough consultation and assessment of your needs. Here at D Electrics we will work with you to design a custom system that meets your specific requirements and maximises your energy savings. Once the design is finalised, we will handle the entire installation process, ensuring that it is done professionally and efficiently.

EICR’s - put safety first

Just to be on the safe side, regular EICRs help identify potential hazards. These include faulty wiring, overloaded circuits or deterioration of the electrical components protecting occupants from electrical shocks.

The outcome of an EICR inspection

At the end of the Electrical Installation Condition Report there are two outcomes: Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory. In the case of an Unsatisfactory report we can provide a free quotation for the remedial works. Upon competition of the work we will provide a Satisfactory EICR for the Customer.
